What are Conditionals? – Câu điều kiện là gì?

Conditional sentences (Câu điều kiện) diễn tả một điều kiện và kết quả của nó.

Hôm nay, chúng ta sẽ học Zero Conditional (Câu điều kiện loại 0) và First Conditional (Câu điều kiện loại 1).

Zero Conditional – Câu điều kiện loại 0

Usage – Cách dùng

Dùng để nói về sự thật hiển nhiên, quy luật tự nhiên hoặc thói quen.

Form – Cấu trúc

If + S + V (present simple), S + V (present simple).

Examples – Ví dụ:

• If you heat water to 100°C, it boils. (Nếu bạn đun nước đến 100°C, nó sẽ sôi.)

• If you touch fire, you get burned. (Nếu bạn chạm vào lửa, bạn sẽ bị bỏng.)

• If she doesn’t sleep well, she feels tired. (Nếu cô ấy không ngủ đủ, cô ấy cảm thấy mệt mỏi.)

First Conditional – Câu điều kiện loại 1

Usage – Cách dùng

Dùng để nói về những khả năng có thể xảy ra trong tương lai.

Form – Cấu trúc

If + S + V (present simple), S + will + V (bare infinitive).

Examples – Ví dụ:

• If it rains, we will stay at home. (Nếu trời mưa, chúng tôi sẽ ở nhà.)

• If she studies hard, she will pass the exam. (Nếu cô ấy học chăm chỉ, cô ấy sẽ đỗ kỳ thi.)

• If they don’t leave soon, they will miss the train. (Nếu họ không rời đi sớm, họ sẽ lỡ chuyến tàu.)
