1. Where is your hometown?

Sample Answer:

My hometown is Da Nang, a coastal city in central Vietnam. It’s known for its beautiful beaches, friendly people, and relaxed lifestyle. I grew up there, so it holds a lot of special memories for me.

Useful Language:

• coastal city /ˈkəʊstl ˈsɪti/: thành phố ven biển

• relaxed lifestyle /rɪˈlækst ˈlaɪfstaɪl/: lối sống thư thả

• hold special memories (for someone) /həʊld ˈspeʃl ˈmeməriz/: mang nhiều ký ức đặc biệt (với ai)

2. What do you like most about your hometown?

Sample Answer:

I think what I love most is the scenery. There are mountains, rivers, and the sea, all within easy reach. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The air feels much fresher compared to big cities.

Useful Language:

• scenery /ˈsiːnəri/: phong cảnh

3. Has your hometown changed much over the years?

Sample Answer:

Yes, quite a lot. In the past, it was a quiet town, but now it’s becoming more developed, with more high-rise buildings, shopping malls, and tourists. I think it’s a positive change, although I do miss the peaceful atmosphere sometimes.

4. Is your hometown a good place for young people to live?

I’d say yes, especially now. There are plenty of job opportunities and entertainment options. Plus, it’s not as expensive as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, which makes it easier for young people to settle down.
