1. What’s the weather like in your country?

Sample Answer:

Vietnam has a tropical climate, so it’s usually hot and humid, especially in the south. In the north, the weather is more varied with four seasons. The summer can get quite hot, while winters are mild but sometimes chilly.

Useful Language:

• tropical climate /ˈtrɑːpɪkl ˈklaɪmət/: khí hậu nhiệt đới

• humid /ˈhjuːmɪd/: ẩm

• chilly /ˈtʃɪli/: se lạnh, hơi lạnh

2. What’s your favorite kind of weather?

Sample Answer:

I really enjoy cool and breezy weather. It feels fresh and comfortable, especially when I’m outside. I don’t like it when it’s too hot or rainy, because it makes me feel tired and sticky.

Useful Language:

• breezy /ˈbriːzi/: mát mẻ, có gió nhẹ

• comfortable /ˈkʌmf(ər)təbl/: dễ chịu

• feel sticky /fiːl ˈstɪki/: cảm thấy bết dính, khó chịu (do mồ hôi)

3. What do you usually do when it rains?

Sample Answer:

If it rains heavily, I just stay indoors and relax or watch something online. Light rain doesn’t bother me much, but I always carry an umbrella just in case. I actually find rainy days quite peaceful.

Useful Language:

• stay indoors /steɪ ˌɪnˈdɔːrz/: ở trong nhà

• just in case /dʒʌst ɪn keɪs/: phòng khi, đề phòng

• peaceful /ˈpiːsfl/: yên bình

4. What’s your favorite season?

Sample Answer:

My favorite season is fall because the weather is cool and the air feels fresh. I also like the atmosphere — it’s calm and a bit nostalgic. It’s a perfect time for taking walks or reading outside.

Useful Language:

• atmosphere /ˈætməsfɪr/: bầu không khí

• nostalgic /nɑːˈstældʒɪk/: hoài niệm

• take a walk /teɪk ə wɔːk/: đi dạo

5. Does the weather ever affect your mood?

Sample Answer:

Yes, definitely. Sunny days usually put me in a good mood, while gloomy or rainy weather sometimes makes me feel lazy. That’s why I prefer bright and warm days to stay productive.

Useful Language:

• put (someone) in a good mood /pʊt ɪn ə ɡʊd muːd/: làm ai đó vui vẻ

• gloomy /ˈɡluːmi/: u ám, ảm đạm
