Sample Answer (Band 7.0+):

One of the most unforgettable trips I’ve ever taken was a weekend getaway to Ninh Binh, a stunning province in northern Vietnam. I went there with a few of my close friends during a university break, and it turned out to be a truly refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We took a train from Hanoi, and the journey itself was surprisingly pleasant. I remember watching the rice fields blur past the window as we talked and laughed—it was a rare moment when everyone felt completely relaxed. Once we arrived, we rented bikes and explored the area at our own pace. Places like Trang An and Tam Coc blew us away with their breathtaking landscapes—towering limestone cliffs, tranquil rivers, and lush greenery everywhere you looked.

What made the trip so special wasn’t just the scenery, but the feeling of being off the beaten path. We stayed in a rustic homestay run by a lovely local family who cooked us a homemade dinner that honestly rivalled any restaurant meal I’ve had. There was something incredibly genuine and heartwarming about that experience.

Looking back, that trip was more than just a break—it was a chance to reconnect with nature, with friends, and even with myself. It reminded me that sometimes the best memories come from simple moments, shared with the right people.

What you did

We started each morning with a cup of hot coffee while looking out  over Xuan Huong Lake - everything was so calm and quiet. We spent most of the day walking around the city at our own pace, taking in the sights and enjoying the laid-back vibe. In the evening, we headed to the night market, which was full of local flavors and vibrant energy. I was blown away by how lively yet peaceful the whole place felt.

Why it was memorable

What made this trip truly special was the atmosphere—it was the perfect chance to slow down and reconnect with myself. The cool weather and tranquil surroundings gave me space to breathe and forget all the stress and deadlines waiting back home. It wasn’t a fancy trip, but that sense of peace, freedom, and simplicity made it one I’ll always remember.
