Sample Answer (Band 7.0+)

One of the most important decisions I’ve ever made was choosing my university major. I made this decision about six years ago when I finished high school and had to decide what to study next.

At that time, I was torn between studying business and English education. After much thought and discussion with my parents and teachers, I finally followed my heart and decided to major in English because I’ve always been passionate about languages and wanted to become an English teacher in the future.

It wasn’t an easy choice since business seemed to offer more job opportunities, but I trusted my instincts. Looking back, it turned out to be a good decision because studying English has opened many doors for me. I’ve gained valuable experience in teaching, developed my communication skills, and met amazing people who share the same passion.

Overall, that decision truly shaped who I am today and set me on a meaningful career path that I’m proud of.

Looking back, it turned out to be a really good decision. I took a short break, gained valuable experience through some freelance projects, and later found a position that opened many doors for my career. That choice truly shaped who I am today—more confident, balanced, and satisfied with my life.
